Key Takeaway: The best Kodi addons for football are official ones: YouTube for league and club highlights, iPlayer WWW and viwX for UK broadcaster coverage, and Sportschau for German football. For full match replays from a club, SPURSPLAY shows how official club platforms work inside Kodi.
Football on Kodi works best when the addon comes from the people who hold the rights. Leagues and clubs publish highlights on official channels, public broadcasters stream the matches they air, and some clubs now run their own replay platforms. All eight addons below are in the official Kodi repository.
This list focuses on football and soccer only: league highlights, match replays, national team coverage, and club content. It does not repeat general sports scraper addons. For multi-sport picks, see our Kodi addons for sports roundup.
Important Note: Broadcaster addons follow the same rights and geolocks as the original services, and some need a UK TV Licence or an account. Only watch content you are entitled to in your country, and follow local law. This guide does not promote unlicensed streams.

The YouTube addon is the most useful football tool in Kodi because almost every major league, club, and federation publishes official highlights there. Subscribe to the Premier League, LaLiga, Bundesliga, or your club channel once, and those uploads appear in Kodi. Version 7.4.4 was released in June 2026 and is in the official repository.
Features

- Subscriptions Feed: Signing in shows a subscriptions feed, which turns Kodi into a single highlights inbox for every team you follow.
- Search by Fixture: Search for a fixture or player and filter results by upload date to find the newest match highlights.
- Playlists and Shows: Club channels group full replays, press conferences, and training clips into playlists that Kodi lists as folders.
- Global Availability: Most official highlight uploads are available worldwide, although some leagues block clips in markets they sell to broadcasters.
- Adaptive Playback: The addon uses Kodi InputStream Adaptive for high-resolution streams on supported devices.

How We Ranked Kodi Football Addons
Each addon was ranked on how much legitimate football it delivers and how many fans can actually use it. A worldwide highlights source ranks above a single-country broadcaster, and a club platform ranks lower only because it serves one team.
- Official Repository: Listed in the official Kodi repository, not a third-party zip.
- Rights-Holder Content: Video comes from leagues, clubs, or licensed broadcasters.
- Football Depth: Amount of highlights, replays, and live matches for football specifically.
- Reach: How many countries can use the addon without geolocks.
- Cost Clarity: Free tiers, licences, and subscriptions taken from official pages.
- Maintenance: Recent releases and stable playback in current Kodi versions.
- Remote Usability: Menus that work well with a TV remote.
How to Pick a Kodi Addon for Football
The right addon depends on what kind of football you want and where you live. Start with these questions before installing several addons at once. On Fire TV devices, first follow our Kodi on Firestick guide.
- Highlights or Live: For highlights, start with YouTube. For live matches, use the broadcaster that holds rights in your country.
- Your Country: UK viewers get the most from iPlayer WWW and viwX, German viewers from Sportschau, Spanish viewers from RTVE, and Italian viewers from Rai Play.
- Your Club: Check whether your club runs an official platform; SPURSPLAY is one example with a Kodi addon.
- Language: Sky Video Italia, Rai Play, RTVE, and Sportschau are in their local languages.
- Accounts and Licences: viwX needs an ITVX account, and BBC and ITV live TV need a UK TV Licence.
- Paid Leagues: Live top-flight league matches usually sit behind paid services outside Kodi.
Highlights vs Replays vs Live Football
Football fans often expect one addon to do everything. In practice, each type of content comes from a different place.
- Highlights: League and club channels on YouTube, plus broadcaster highlight shows.
- Full Match Replays: Club platforms such as SPURSPLAY and broadcaster catch-up sections.
- Live Matches: Public broadcasters such as BBC, ITV, ARD, RTVE, and Rai, only for matches they hold rights to.
- News and Clips: Sky Video Italia and broadcaster news sections for quick updates.
For paid live options, compare our best streaming services for sports. For broader channel lineups in Kodi, see the best Kodi addons for live TV.
